A first date. A very good second date. And a little time together. Our dating time calculator turns the day your relationship started into years, months and days together, with your next anniversary and a just-for-fun hundred-day milestone.

How long have we been together?

Pick the date you consider the start of your relationship. That might be your first date, the day you became official, or the date you both agreed on. There is no universal right answer: choose the moment that matters to you.

The dating time calculator compares that start date with today, using your browser’s local calendar date. You can also choose another end date to look back at a special occasion or plan a future celebration. Results update when either date changes; there is no need to refresh the page.

How this dating time calculator counts time

Total days measures the number of calendar-day boundaries between your dates. The start date itself is day zero, so two identical dates give zero elapsed days. The next calendar date is one day together. Some relationship apps call the start date day one; their inclusive count will be one higher.

Calendar years and months are not fixed numbers of days. We count complete months from the original start date, then split them into years and remaining months. If the starting day is absent from a shorter month, we use that month’s last day. Remaining days are counted after the last complete month.

For example, 31 January to 28 February in a non-leap year is one calendar month; 31 January to 31 March is two months. Leap-year and month-end conventions can differ between apps, so compare total days when you want a consistent date-to-date measure.

This is a calendar-date calculator, not a stopwatch. It does not know what time you started dating, so it does not pretend to measure exact hours, minutes or seconds. Day calculations are independent of daylight-saving clock changes.

Your next anniversary and little milestones

An anniversary returns to the month and day your relationship began. If you started on 29 February, this calculator uses 28 February in years that do not have a leap day. That is a disclosed planning convention, not a rule about when you must celebrate.

The next anniversary is strictly after your chosen end date. If the end date is an anniversary, we acknowledge it and show the following year’s date. For a smaller reason to celebrate, the next hundred-day milestone shows your next 100, 200, 300 or later multiple of 100 elapsed days together.

The dates are just a helpful nudge. A calendar can count time together; it cannot score your compatibility, predict a relationship’s future or tell you how good it is.

A relationship-duration example

If your relationship began on 14 May 2023 and you measure it on 14 October 2024, you have completed one year and five calendar months. The fixed example in the calculator uses those dates so you can try it without entering your own.

Choose “Use today” to compare your start date with the current local date instead. When copying a result, the summary includes the exact start and end dates so a saved message does not silently go out of date.

GOOD QUESTIONS, CLEAR ANSWERS

Dating time calculator FAQs

What is a dating time calculator?

A dating time calculator measures the calendar time between a relationship start date and today or another chosen date. It can show years, months and days together, total elapsed days, upcoming anniversaries and simple relationship milestones.

Does it count the day we started dating?

The start date is day zero: the same start and end date gives zero elapsed days. Moving to the next calendar date adds one day. An app that calls your start date day one uses an inclusive convention and will show one extra day.

Which date should we use as the start of our relationship?

Use the date that you both consider meaningful, such as your first date or the day you became official. The calculator does not decide when a relationship began.

How does it handle leap years and dates at the end of a month?

It validates Gregorian calendar dates and includes leap days in the total-day count. Complete months are anchored to your original starting day, clamped to the last day of a shorter month when needed. A 29 February annual anniversary uses 28 February in non-leap years.

Can I calculate our dating time on a different date?

Yes. Choose “Pick a date” and select your end date. It must be on or after your start date. A future end date gives a projection as of that date, rather than time already spent together.

Are hours and seconds included?

No. With calendar dates alone, an exact time-of-day duration is unknown. This tool counts calendar days and completed calendar months, rather than displaying a misleading stopwatch.

Does the calculator save our dates?

The calculator processes your dates in the browser. It does not create an account, save a calculation history or add your dates to a share URL. Hosting and advertising services may still process technical browsing data; see the site’s privacy information.

Privacy, kept simple.

Calculator inputs, including chosen dates, are processed in your browser. This application does not submit your numbers to a calculator API, save a calculation history, or require an account.
